Pioneer Trails - Q&A with Pioneer Student Athletes

Alfred State sport management students enrolled in a field experience class during the spring semester recently interviewed student athletes about their experiences wearing the blue & gold.

Women’s Basketball player Megan Bailey interviewed by Maddie Spzaicher

What do you think was the team’s biggest strength for this season?Overall, we all got along. There were no cliques. We meshed well on and off of the court.
With the USCAA National Bids coming out on Monday, how is the team feeling? We don’t really have a doubt that we will not make it. This will be the first year that Coach Boyd will take any team to nationals. Her excitement makes us all excited and anxious as well.
What are you going to miss most about basketball next year? A lot of things, but mostly the team as a whole and belonging to something. I’m really going to miss Destiny (Brito).
Do you have a personal ritual before every game? I listen to my pump up playlist on my iPod- ear buds always in. We also watch Jwanna Mann before every away game on the bus.
Do you have a favorite moment this season? We had so much fun this year, this is sad as the season comes to an end.
When we were juggling in Michigan and we tried teaching coach.
We didn’t start off the season thinking we would go to nationals so the whole season has been fun and positive.
