Orvis Activities Center
The Paul B. Orvis Activities Center is home to all of our indoor athletic amenities. Inside, you will find the gymnasium, strength room, swimming pool, athletic training room, locker rooms, concession stand, and Athletic Department offices.
Orvis Gymnasium
The Orvis Gymnasium is located on the third floor of the Orvis Activities Center. Competitions for men’s basketball, women’s basketball, women’s volleyball, and wrestling take place here, along with serving as a practice site for those teams along with baseball and softball during the winter months.
Wrestling Room
The wrestling room serves as a practice facility for our wrestling team. Brand new wall mats were installed in the Winter of 2020. All competitions take place in the main gymnasium.
Orvis Strength Room
Orvis is home to a 4,500 square foot strength training facility used by athletes, the rest of our student body, and faculty/staff. To see more of the new weight room, click HERE
Orvis Locker Rooms/Showers
The locker room area has multiple team rooms and has direct access to the gym and the pool. Both locker rooms feature renovated shower rooms and are in close proximity to the athletic training room.
Athletic Training Room
Our athletic training staff uses this facility to work with Pioneer student-athletes to rehabilitate injuries and educate them on preventing future injuries.
Pioneer Stadium
Pioneer Stadium is the home of Pioneer football, track & field, men’s soccer, and women’s soccer. The stadium was constructed and opened in 2009. The facility includes a turf field, a brand new video scoreboard, lighting, a sound system, seating for 1,500 fans, and a fully functional press box. The eight-lane track was resurfaced during the summer of 2019.
Baseball Field
The Pioneer Baseball Field includes a fully electronic scoreboard, two batting tunnels, four bullpen mounds, an infield tarp, covered dugouts, a functional press box, and bleacher seating for fans.
Softball Field
The Pioneer Softball Field includes a fully electronic scoreboard, covered dugouts, team storage, an infield tarp, a functional press box, and bleachers seating for fans.
Pioneer Stadium Training Room
Located in the Pioneer Stadium locker room, this training room serves as a space for pre-game and mid-game injury prevention such as taping, stretching, and providing ice.
Pioneer Stadium Locker Rooms
These Pioneer Stadium locker rooms are state-of-the-art and feature three separate locker rooms and a satellite athletic training facility.
Pioneer Fitness Center
The 4,000 square foot fitness center features cardiovascular equipment, resistance weight equipment, and free weight equipment. The facility is utilized by students, faculty/staff, and the community.
MacKenzie Cardio Center
Our cardiovascular studio, located in the MacKenzie Complex foyer, features 10 cardio machines and limited free weights for use by Alfred State students.
