Alfred State to Host Numerous Summer Clinics

The Alfred State athletic department will host numerous clinics this summer. The Summer Sports Fesitval highlights the offerings.

The summer sports festival includes a totally supervised program of daily instruction in a variety of sports, arts and crafts, and recreational activities, in addition to a daily free swim period each afternoon. Camp runs from 9 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. from June 27 - July 21. Registrants can choose between three plans (Plan A: June 27 - July 7, Plan B: July 11 - July 21, & Plan C: June 27 - July 21).

The Learn to Swim program offers swimming lessons for ages two and up are offered with a choice of three classes of instruction. Lessons will be scheduled at half hour intervals from 9 a.m. to Noon, Monday through Thursday. A typical class will have three to five students to each instructor, special classes will have one instructor for every two students, for those who need extra attention., and private classes are guaranteed a one-to-one instructor-to-child ratio at all times. Your child will get the personal attention needed to learn the basics of swimming. Registrants can choose between three plans (Plan A: June 27 - July 7, Plan B: July 11 - July 21, & Plan C: June 27 - July 21).

The Alfred Almond Track Club allows participants ages 6 and up to participate in weekly competitions. First practice is Thursday, May 26th at 3:30 p.m. - practices normally are Monday and Friday (schedule might change but will be communicated by the coaches) and competitions are on Wednesday evenings.

The Elite Football Clinic invites participants to improve their game while experiencing the true meaning of what it is to be a Pioneer. The Elite Football Clinic will consist of individual instruction for all positions, Combine skills instruction and testing, opportunity for competitive competitions to practice what you have learned, and instruction and evaluation from Alfred State's high level coaching staff.

The clinic will take place on May 21, 2016 between 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. is open for athletes entering grades 9 - 12 in the fall of 2016.
