Pioneers Finish 8th in USCAA Directors Cup

The Alfred State athletic department finished 8th in the 2015-16 USCAA Directors Cup standings. The Pioneers scored 345.5 points in the competition.

The Pioneers had great success in the fall at the USCAA Championships. The volleyball team finished 4th, the men's cross country finished 5th, and the women's soccer team tied for 5th. In the winter, the swimming team won the USCAA Invitational and the wrestling team was 4th. In the spring the women's track and field team was 2nd in the USCAA Invitational while the men's team was 3rd.

Rochester (MI) College took home the top spot with 500 points followed by Berea (KY) College (486), and Albany College of Pharmacy (424.5). 

Directors Cup points are awarded for the number of sport offerings and are also based on results from USCAA National Championship events.

Alfred State finished 4th in 2014-15 and in 11th in the 2013-14 academic year.
