Cross Country:

The cross country team had the weekend off but will head to the ACAA Championships hosted by SUNY Canton on Saturday to begin their postseason.

Football: 0-7

The blue & gold had the week off and returns to action for their final home game of the season on Saturday when they host Kentucky Wesleyan.

Men's Soccer: 4-11

The Pioneers fell 7-2 at Houghton in their only action of the week. Kory Zimmer (Livonia) scored in the 64th minute after getting a pass from Brian Markel (Arkport) and Tyler Landries (Genesee Valley) scored in the 79th minute after getting a pass from Noah Holmok (Alfred Almond).

Women's Soccer: 7-7, ranked #11 in USCAA Poll

The Lady Pioneers split a pair of games this week. They fell 1-0 in a hard fought battle at Houghton and defeated Villa Maria 12-0.

Allison Danielak (Brockport) made six saves in the loss at Houghton.

Nine different Pioneers found the back of the net in the victory over Villa Maria. Kylie Newman (Waverly) led the way with three goals and an assist while Brooke Geibel (Arkport) scored once and passed out three assists. Michayla Salatel (Geneseo) had a goal and two assists,Nittayaporn Saoro (Victor) found the back of the net twice, and Melissa Mineti (Livonia) had a goal and an assist.

Swimming: Men 1-0, Women: 2-0

The swimming team opened up their 2016-17 season with a perfect weekend. The women's team defeated Franciscan 114-113 and Penn State Altoona 117-92 while the men's team won 110-92 vs. Penn State Altoona.

Rebecca Stevens (Wellsville) had an impressive collegiate debut vs. Franciscan. She won the five dive competition with a score of 169.8 and the six dive with a score of 224.9 for a total of 394.72. Kaileigh Lehman (Lowville) won two individual events. She won the 50 free (27.60) and the 100 free (1:01.33) Alley Sell (Hanover, PA) won the 100 breast (1:14.68) and set a new school record in the 200 free (2:04). Elizabeth Drake (Lansing) won the 1,000 free and set a new school record (12:51). The 200 free relay team of Lehman, Drake, Myriah Perry (Canisteo Greenwood), and Sell set a new Alfred State record and won in 1:53.07.

Versus PS Altoona, Perry, Lehman and Sell were all double individual event winners. Perry won the 200 free (2:20.14) and the 100 back (1:10.9), Lehman won the 50 free (28.14) and the 100 free (1:01.93) and Sell won the 200 IM (2:23.83) and the 100 breast (1:13.02).

The women's 200 medley relay team of Megan Hendershot (Brockport), Josey Brewer (Letchworth), Camryn Elliott (Wayland Cohocton), and Rachel Caltagirone (Tonawanda) won in 2:11.41 while the 200 free relay team of Lehman,Elizabeth Drake (Lansing), Perry, and Sell won in 1:51.83.

Bryce Cutler (Newton, NJ) and Tim Olin (Perry) were double individual event winners on the men's side. Cutler won the 1,000 free (11:28.94) and the 500 free (5:32.30) while Olin won the 200 free (1:57.73) and the 100 back (59.91). The men's 200 freestyle relay team of Olin, Mason Sparks (Royalton-Hartland), Nathan Ciciera (Lake Shore), and Kyle Sporysz (Cuba Rushford) won in 1:35.37.

Volleyball: 21-4, ranked #3 in USCAA Poll

The Lady Pioneers won three of their five matches this week. They defeated Penn College 3-0 on Wednesday and then split on both days of the Wilkes Tournament over the weekend, lost 3-2 to Keystone and defeated CCNY 3-0 on Friday and lost 3-2 to Moravian and defeated Wilkes 3-1 on Saturday.

Janae Hamilton (Ellicottville) led the team with 60 kills (.449 hitting percentage) and 14 blocks. Bryanna Godfrey (Tioga) finished the week with 59 kills, 47, digs, and 13 aces. Madison Szpaicher (Ellicottville) passed out 170 assists and collected 81 digs, Madison Webster (Corning) had 69 digs, and Jessica Padley (Sweet Home) chipped in 34 kills and 36 digs.

The blue & gold hit .240 for the week. The team also collected 54 service aces and 27.5 blocks. The Lady Pioneers also eclipsed the 20 win mark for the 3rd straight season.
