Thiel and Geibel Named #PioneerPinpoint Athletes of the Week

Alfred State junior cross country runner Lindsey Thiel (Liverpool) and freshmen soccer player Brooke Geibel (Arkport) have been named the #PioneerPinpoint Athletes of the Week.

Thiel raced to a 2nd place finish at the ACAA Cross Country Championships held at SUNY Canton on Saturday. Thiel crossed the finish line of the 6k course in 24:48.40. She finished nearly one-minute faster than the 3rd place finisher. Thiel has been the top female finisher for all of the Lady Pioneer races this year.

Geibel registered a goal and an assist in the Lady Pioneers 2-0 regular season finale vs. Elmira. Her assist set up the first goal of the game by Julia Yanarella. She added an insurance goal, her 11th of the season, to ensure the blue & gold finished above .500 in the regular season. She leads the team with 11 goals and eight assists.
