Bialecki and Beach Earn A3DI Monthy Honors

Alfred State sophomore basketball player Catherine Bialecki (Alfred Almond) and freshmen diver Nick Beach (Canandaigua) have been named the Association of Division III Independents Student-Athletes of the Month for February.

Bialecki averaged 23.7 points, 12.0 rebounds and 2.3 blocks per game on 49.3 percent shooting as the Pioneers went 5-2 during the month. The sophomore recorded 20 or more points in five of the seven contests, which included scoring at least 30 points in three different games. The center finished with five double-doubles during the month and averaged 31.6 minutes per game. Bialecki scored a month-high 32 points on 13-of-23 shooting with 11 rebounds in a 58-57 victory over Hilbert on February 1st. The sophomore concluded the month with 27 points and 21 rebounds in a victory over Pine Manor College on February 26th.

Beach finished first in the 1m and 3m diving events at the AMCC Championships with scores of 438.1 and 367.2, respectively. The freshman was named the AMCC Championship Diver of the Meet and then capped season by being named the AMCC Diver of the Year.
