ACAA Players of the Week - Dannielle O'Buckley, Bryanna Godfrey, and Brooke Scianne

O'Buckley, Godfrey, and Scianna Honored by ACAA

A trio of Pioneers, Dannielle O'Buckley (Jamaica/Ansbach), Bryanna Godfrey (Tioga) and Brooke Scianna (Poughkeepsie/Spackenkill), have been named the American Collegiate Athletic Association Players of the Week.

O'Buckley was named the ACAA Offensive Player of the Week after scoring two goals and passing out an assist this past week. She scored a goal and had an assist in a 3-0 win over Medaille before scoring the only goal in a 1-0 win over league-rival SUNY Canton. She had six shots on goal in the two games. This is the second time this season that she has earned ACAA honors.

Godfrey had a monster week recording at least 13 kills in each of the Pioneers three contests last week. She had a season-high 24 kills in a win over SUNY Cobleskill and hit a smoldering .343 (51k-14e-108ta) on the week. Godfrey also chipped in 20 digs and four service aces. She is approaching the 1,000 kill and 1,000 dig plateau with 968 of each for her career.

Scianna anchored a Pioneer defense that posted two more shutouts last week with wins over Medaille and SUNY Canton. Alfred State now has five shutouts in a row and has not allowed a goal in over 490 minutes.
