Parente and Johnson Named Garcia's Top Cut Athletes of the Week

Jamie Parente (Mount Sinai) and Joe Johnson (Churchville) have been named Alfred State Garcia's Barbershop Top Cut Athletes of the Week.

Parente led the Pioneer softball team with a .438 (7 for 16) batting average this week. She was 2 for 4 with a run scored in game one vs. Cazenovia and then went 3 for 4 with two runs scored and one RBI during game two. During the six-game week, Parente had at least a hit in four of the games.

Johnson had nine of the Pioneers 17 goals this week. He scored four goals including the game winner in the Pioneers come-from-behind 7-6 victory over Hiram. He also scored four goals in the game vs. SUNY Delhi and netted a goal vs. Dean College. On the year he leads the team 27 goals and five assists on 91 shots.
