Alfred State Announces Athletic Department Administrative Changes

Director of Athletics Jason Doviak has announced some changes to the athletic department administrative team. Jen Enke has been elevated to the Associate Athletic Director position along with adding the duties of Senior Woman Administrator, Gina Boyd has been named an Assistant Athletic Director, and Paul Welker has been named the Assistant Athletic Director for Media Relations.

"I have great confidence in the abilities of Jen, Gina, and Paul," stated Doviak. "The leadership qualities, support, and commitment they have exhibited to our department and the campus community are extraordinary."

Enke joined the Alfred State athletic department at the start of the college's transition to NCAA Division III as the Assistant Athletic Director. During her five years, she has overseen the compliance program, educated student-athletes and staff of the NCAA rules and guidelines, and handled many of the internal affairs operations of the department. Her new position will include the NCAA role of Senior Woman Administrator and will also include include oversight of cross country, swimming & diving, and track & field .

Boyd is in her 29th year as a member of the athletic department and oversees the physical education department, teaches a majority of the physical education classes offered, and is the director of the college's annual Summer Sports Festival. In addition, Boyd has accumulated 412 victories at the helm of the women's basketball program.

Welker has served as the college's Sports Information Director since 2001. He oversees game day management, statistics, media relations, website maintenance of www.alfredstateathletics.com, and record keeping. He also works closely with sport management students and serves on numerous campus wide committees.

The 2018-19 school year is the first in which Alfred State athletics is a full member of NCAA Division III. The athletic department will become a full member of the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference in 2019-20.
