Hoffmann and Salatel Earn Weekly ACAA Honors

Alfred State soccer players Justus Hoffmann (Hamburg) and Michayla Salatel (Geneseo) have been named the American Collegiate Athletic Association Offensive Player of the Week.

Salatel earns the award for the second time in the last three weeks after scoring both goals in the Pioneers 2-0 victory over Elmira. She finished the game with seven shots on goal in the victory that pushed the Alfred State winning streak to five games.

Molly Berg of Finlandia was named the defensive player of the week.

Hoffmann had a big day as he recorded a hat trick in the Pioneers 4-1 victory over Valley Forge. He scored two goals in the 1st half and added an insurance goal late in the 2nd half to complete the hat trick. Hoffmann now holds the team lead in goals with six.

Carter Boliek of Pratt was named the defensive player of the week.
