Papaj and Clark Named Athletes of the Week

Alfred State freshman goalkeeper Madison Papaj (Holley) and freshman running back Ronnie Clark (Philadelphia/Indian River) have been named the Alfred State Athletes of the Week.

Papaj was named to the ACAA All-Tournament team after a pair of solid efforts in net for the Pioneers. In the team's 2-1 semifinal victory over SUNY Delhi, Papaj made 10 saves while in the finals she made 15 saves as the Pioneers played to a scoreless draw vs. Thomas More. The shutout was the 8th of the season for Papaj.

Clark was huge for the Pioneer offense in Saturday's 30-28 victory over Anna Maria. Clark rushed 34 times for 209 yards and two scores. Clark's effort led to his first collegiate game with more than 100 yards. He scored from 20-yards out in the 1st quarter and scored a huge touchdown from 22-yards out early in the 3rd quarter.
