Anderson and Lewis Named Athletes of the Week

The basketball duo of Rayanna Anderson (Wellsville) and Tahaij Lewis (Rochester/Greece Olympia) have been named the Alfred State Athletes of the Week.

Anderson was key for the Pioneers in a 2-0 week for the women's basketball team. She led the Pioneers with 30 points and added nine assists and four steals. She scored nine points, five assists, and two seals in a victory over Wells. She then connected on three 3-pointers and led the team with 21 points in a come-from-behind victory over Oswego.

Lewis had two big games this week and finished with 43 points and 39 rebounds. He had 27 points (13 for 18 from the field) and 18 rebounds (14 defensive) in a victory over Wells and then had 15 points and 18 boards in a victory over Bryant & Stratton - Rochester. In the Pioneers other game this week, Lewis collected three rebounds in less than five minutes of action before sustaining an injury.
