Track & Field joins the CSAC

Track & Field to Compete in CSAC

The Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) is proud to announce that Alfred State College has been accepted as an associate member in the sport of outdoor track and field for the 2019 season.

Alfred State will join Franciscan University of Steubenville, Keystone College, Notre Dame of Maryland University and Penn State Behrend as participating members in track and field. The Pioneers will be immediately eligible for All-CSAC awards and the conference's track and field championship. Track and Field does not have an automatic bid to the NCAA Championships, as student-athletes qualify for the championship based on marks.

"The CSAC will provide our student-athletes a great opportunity," said Alfred State President Dr. Irby "Skip" D. Sullivan. "We are grateful to Commissioner Mullikin and the CSAC Board for supporting our application."

"Joining the CSAC as an affiliate member is a terrific opportunity for our track and field student-athletes as we continue to enhance their experience as the Division III level," said Alfred State Director of Athletics Jason Doviak. "I would like to thank Commissioner Mullikin and the CSAC Board of Directors for accepting Alfred State as a member as well as the support they provided throughout the process. We look forward to competing against our fellow members this spring."

Alfred State currently is a member of the American Collegiate Athletic Association and will become a full member of the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference in 2019-20.  Neither the ACAA or the AMCC sponsor track & field championships.

Keystone College will host the 2019 CSAC Outdoor Track and Field Championship May 4-5.
