Anderson, Kemsley, and Lewis Named Athletes of the Week
Rayanna Anderson (Wellsville), Paul Kemsley (Lancaster), and Tahaij Lewis (Rochester/Greece Olympia) have been named the Alfred State Athletes of the Week.
Anderson connected on 14 three-pointers in a pair of games this week as she led the team with 44 points and 15 assists. She scored 17 points (5 for 12 from three) vs. Canton and then scored a game high and career high 27 vs. Villa Maria. Versus Villa she was 9 for 15 from beyond the three-point arc.
Kemsley continued to impress as he won a pair of events at the Houghton Invitational on Friday evening. He won the weight throw with a mark of 17.15 m. His mark is a new career best and a new Alfred State record. He also won the shot put with a toss of 14.18 m.
Lewis had a big week as he scored 53 points and grabbed 25 rebounds. After scoring 11 vs. Penn State Behrend on Tuesday, Lewis had a career night with 42 points and 21 rebounds in an overtime contest with Nazareth. For the week he was 20 for 30 from the floor and added four blocks and four steals.
