Multi athletes poise after day one of the Brockport Multi

Brigman and Wadsworth Lead Pioneers at Brockport Multi

Emily Brigman (Lancaster) and Jacob Wadsworth (Dansville) led the way as the Alfred State indoor track & field team competed at the Brockport Golden Eagle Multi on Friday night. Brigman improved on her school record with a 4th place finish in the pentathlon while Wadsworth leads the field of 13 athletes in the heptathlon.

Brigman improved on her career best pentathlon performance with a score of 2,528 points. She scored a high of 705 points with a time of 10.04 in the 60 hurdles and then scored 599 points with a leap of 1.48 m in the high jump.

Marissa Sly (N. Tonawanda) finished 8th with 2,028 points. She scored an evening best of 609 points with a run of 10.57 in the 60 hurdles. Katherine O'Buckley (Queens/Francis Lewis) was 10th and Julia Yanarella (Wappingers Falls) was 11th.

On day one of the heptathlon, Wadsworth leads the field of 13 with 2,392 points. He scored 700 points in the 60 m (7.54), 675 points in the long jump (6.40 m), and 644 points in the high jump (1.82 m). Cameron Howard (Brockport) is 5th with 2,176 points, Derek Stein is 6th with 2,130, Andrew Ruebenstahl (Washingtonville) is 8th with 2,062, and Tim Berry (Midlakes) is 9th with 2,003 points.
