Jason Doviak and Jen Enke receive NADIIIAA Special Olympic Award

Alfred State Honored by NADIIIAA for Special Olympic Event

The Alfred State Special Olympic Track & Field Spectacular was honored by the National Association of Division III Athletic Administrators (NADIIIAA) as the Runner-up in the Special Olympics Activity Category. The Pioneers received their award during the NCAA Convention this week in Orlando, FL.

The 6th Annual Track & Field Spectacular held in May had more than 250 students and 100 school support staff from local elementary and secondary schools come to Pioneer Stadium to participate in an Olympic atmosphere. Each student participated in a running and a field event (throws or jumps) and received ribbons for their accomplishments. Pioneer student athletes, the entire athletic department, and other members of the campus community helped execute the event and bring smiles to the participants and fans faces.

Director of Athletic Jason Doviak and Associate Athletic Director accepted the award ceremony that honored Alfred State. The University of Southern Maine was the overall winner of the Special Olympics Activity Category and Babson College was the 3rd Place honoree.
