Lewis and Drew Named Athletes of the Week
Tahaij Lewis (Rochester/Greece Olympia) and Jacob Drew (Corning Painted Post) have been named the Alfred State Athletes of the Week.
Lewis averaged 22 points, 12.5 rebounds, and two blocks in a pair of victories for the men's basketball team this past week. He was 9 for 10 from the field and recorded a double-double with 21 points and 13 boards in the contest vs. Pitt-Bradford and then scored 23 points and grabbed 12 rebounds in the one-point win over Delhi. He was 8 for 14 for the game and hit the game winning shot with 16 seconds left in the game. For the week he was 17 for 24 from the field (70.8%).
Drew ran his way into the Alfred State record book with a strong performance at the Boston University Valentine Invitational. He finished the 800 in 1:57.44 to move into 3rd place all-time. Drew and the Pioneers were competing versus athletes from all three levels of the NCAA.
