Doran, Traugott, and Covelli Named Athletes of the Week

Danny Doran (Irondequoit), Arianna Traugott (Elmira), and Nic Covelli (Carmel) have been named the Alfred State Athletes of Week. 

Doran had a monster day in the Pioneers AMCC opener vs. LaRoche. He was 4 for 4 with a pair of homers and 4 RBI in the opener and then was 2 for 5 with another RBI in the nightcap. On the day he finished 6 for 9 with 13 total bases and a slugging percentage of 1.444.

Traugott was 5 for 8 with a double, a homer, and six RBI as the Pioneers swept a pair from Valley Forge on Saturday. She also allowed just two hits and no earned runs in five innings of work in the opener to earn the victory.

Covelli scored two goals and four ground balls in a 15-8 victory over Medaille and then had six goals, two assists, and two ground balls in a 14-4 win over Franciscan. He has 13 goals and four assists on the season.
