Fox and Van Fleet Named Athletes of the Week

Junior volleyball player Alyssa Fox (Letchworth) and freshman football player Rylie Van Fleet (Maine Endwell) have been named the Alfred State Athletes of the Week.

Fox led the Pioneers with 28 kills in a pair of matches this week. She had 15 kills (.462 hitting percentage) and seven digs in a sweep of D'Youville and then had a double-double with 10 kills and 11 digs in a 3-1 loss to Penn State Altoona.

Van Fleet was credited with five of the team's 13 pass break-ups as the Pioneers defeated Castleton 21-15 on Saturday. He also was tied for the team lead with eight tackles.
