Official Statement Regarding COVID-19

Alfred State Athletics announced today that all spring sports seasons have been canceled effective March 16, 2020. Yesterday, the NCAA cancelled all remaining championships for the winter and spring sports. Conferences have subsequently cancelled the remaining spring seasons and postseason contests in response to the Covid-19-related NCAA decision.  The decisions being made are extremely difficult, but necessary for the safety and well-being of everyone including our student athletes. At Alfred State, we particularly hurt for our spring seniors whose final seasons are cut short.  The NCAA has approved a blanket waiver for spring sports to regain a year of athletic eligibility back in order to provide them with the experience they deserve.

Updates: The fitness centers on campus, the gymnasium, and the Orvis Pool have been closed until further notice.
