Snayczuk and Fletcher Named Athletes of the Week

Mikaela Snayczuk (Machias/Pioneer) and Kellen Fletcher (Wrightstown, NJ) have been named the Alfred State Athletes of the Week.

Snayczuk helped lead the women's swimming & diving team to a 7th place finish at the Oberlin Invitational. She was 2nd place in the 100 breast (1:09.48) to record the best individual result on the women's side.. She was also 4th in the 200 breast (2:37.39) and 9th in the 200 IM (2:18.75). She was part of the following relays as well - the 200 medley relay was 4th (1:53.55), the 800 free relay was 5th (8:29.09), the 400 medley relay was 7th (4:18.73),and the 400 free relay was 7th (3:51.41).

Fletcher had a huge weekend at Oberlin. He won a pair of individual event. He won the 100 fly and set a new AMCC record of 50.61 and won the 200 IM (1:56.12). In the 200 fly (1:54.08) in the 200 fly. In relay action he was part of three winning teams. The 200 free relay (1:25.00 - ranked 16th nationally), 400 free relay (3:08.47 - ranked 15th nationally), and 400 medley relay (3:27.50 - ranked 15th nationally). He was also part of the 800 free relay (7:08.27 - finished 3rd and is ranked 18th nationally).
