Miller to Play for Alpine Cowboys

Alfred State relief pitcher Jake Miller (Bethlehem, PA) has signed a professional contract to play for the Alpine Cowboys of the Pecos League.

This spring, Miller appeared in 10 games out of the bullpen for the Pioneers. He was 1-1 with two saves in 14.2 innings of work. He struck out 11 and held opponents to a .192 batting average. 

The past two summers, Miller played for the Hornell Dodgers of the New York Collegiate Baseball League. He was an NYCBL All-Star in 2016 and was part of the NYCBL Championship team in 2017.

The Cowboys are one of twelve teams that play in the Pecos League. Games run from the middle of May and contests are played throughout the summer. In the early going of the season, Miller has appeared in two games and tossed 2.2 innings.
