Laurie and Pingitore Collect Two Hits at Ithaca

Josh Laurie (LeRoy) and Connor Pingitore (Amsterdam/Broadalbin Perth) both collected a pair of hits as Alfred State traveled to Ithaca for a Sunday non-conference contest. The Bombers collected 16 hits in the 12-3 victory.

The Bombers (26-7) jumped out to an early lead by scoring four in the 1st, a single run in the 3rd, and three more in the 4th. Pingitore got the Pioneers with a RBI single to center in the 5th and Samuel Dickerson (Cutchogue/Mattituck) drove in a pair in the 6th with a single to right. Ithaca put the game out of reach with four more runs in the 8th.

Laurie finished 2 for 3 with a run scored while Pingitore was 2 for 4 with a RBI. Nicholas Scala (Staten Island/Moore Catholic) was tough out of the bullpen. He went 3.1 innings without allowing a run.

Webb Little led the Bombers with a 3 for 5, 6 RBI day. He hit a two-run homer in the 1st and had a bases clearing triple in the 8th. All 9 Bomber starters collected hits. Tom Cosentino earned the win with seven solid innings on the mound. He allowed the three runs on seven hits while walking one and striking out five.

The Pioneers are right back on the field on Monday morning. They take on Pitt Greensburg in their AMCC regular season doubleheader of the regular season. The games have been moved to Bolivar Richburg and will start at 10 a.m.  Alfred State is 9-7 in AMCC action while the Bobcats are 10-6.
