Pioneers Begin Spring Break with Win

The Alfred State Baseball team started their spring break in Memphis, TN with a win against University of the Ozarks. The Pioneers won the game 9-1. The Blue and Gold tacked on runs early, with three coming in the first two innings.

A Jack Curabba first inning homer led off the scoring in the first. Elijah Barinas followed with a solo bomb of his own in the second inning. Curabba had an RBI double in the second to cap off the early scoring for Alfred State. 

Nick Serce and Tim Holler each went deep and extended the Pioneer lead in the later innings. 

Some other standouts for the Pioneers include:

Ryan Bailey: Bailey started the game for the Pioneers and went 6 innings allowing only one run. Bailey tallied 6 k's and let up four hits. 

Brody Burdett: Burdett had a 2 RBI single that started the 4-run seventh inning.

The Pioneers match-up against Belhaven tomorrow at 2:30 pm.
