Pioneers Win; Continue Spring Break

The Alfred State Baseball team won today. 7-2 against Eureka. The Pioneers improve to 8-3 on the season. 

After a first inning run was scored by Eureka to go up 1-0 Nick Serce hit a 2-run homerun to give the Pioneers a 2-1 lead after the first inning. Serce walked in his other 3 at-bats.

In the fourth inning, Eureka scored another run to tie the game at 2.

Brody Burdett hit a deep fly ball with the bases loaded in the 5th inning that scored 3 runs for Alfred State and gave them the lead 5-2. The Pioneers tacked on 2 more runs in the 7th inning with two sacricife flys. 

Jon White threw four innings and gave up no earned runs. White struck out 3 hitters and only gave up 2 hits.

Zachary Miner threw five innings and earned his first college win. His relief appearance consisted of 2 k's and 2 bb's. Miner gave up no runs and only 4 hits on the day.
