Hurd Finishes 6th at Nationals

Haleigh Hurd, a senior on the Alfred State western equestrian team, finished 6th at the IHSA National Championship in Lexington, KY over the weekend.

Hurd, who took 1st place at the semi-national show in Canyon, TX a few weeks back to qualify for the nationals, finished 6th in the open reining class. The IHSA Nationals features elite riders from over 400 colleges from across the country.

Victoria Bolton, the equestrian club team advisor was excited about the result. "I am very proud of Haleigh's hard work and the amazing job our coach Rose Ruffner has done developing the skills of our riders."
