Frazer Signs With Norfolk State

Alfred State defensive back Collin Frazer (Woodbridge, VA) will continue his career at Norfolk State after signing a national letter of intent on Wednesday.  Frazer was a 1st team All-Region III selection as a defensive back and return specialist for the Pioneers in 2012.

Frazer had a solid season in which he was 3rd on the team with 51 tackles.  He had 36 solo tackles, 2.5 tackles for a loss, and a sack.  He picked off three passes (returned one for a score) and recorded seven pass break-ups.

On special teams he had 18 punt returns for 355 yards and two scores and 12 kickoff returns for 280 yards and a score.  He also caught a 58 yard touchdown on a fake punt.

"Im happy to see Collin get the opportunity to play at Norfolk State.  I expect him to be an impact player right away not only in the secondary but as a return specialist.  Collin is one of the most talented and productive punt returners and special teams players I have coached in my 40 years."

Frazer joins a Spartan squad that finished the 2012 season with a 4-7 mark.  The Spartans led by head coach Pete Adrian are members of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference and will open up their 2013 campaign hosting the University of Maine on August 31st.  They travel the next weekend up to Rutgers University for a clash with the Big East Scarlet Knights.

Frazer joins Robert Howard (Syracuse/Nottingham) as Pioneers who have signed letter of intents during the current signing period.
