Streater Signs with Bills

Former Alfred State football and track and field athlete Rod Streater is returning to Western New York. The wide receiver in his sixth season in the NFL signed a free agent contract with the Buffalo Bills this morning.

The Bills are the fourth NFL team that Streater has played for. He was signed as an undrafted free agent out of Temple University by the Raiders immediately following the 2012 Draft. During his four year tenure in Oakland, he played in 36 games making 109 catches for 1,564 yards and eight scores. His best season came in 2013 when he caught 60 passes for 888 yards and four TD's.

During free agency last year, Streater signed a free agent deal with the Kansas City Chiefs. He spent all of preseason with the team before being traded to the San Francisco 49ers right before the start of the regular season. With the 49ers, Streater had 18 catches for 191 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

While at Alfred State, Streater caught 24 passes for 539 yards and six scores in 2009. This followed a freshmen season in which he played safety and picked up 20 tackles and two interceptions. After Alfred State, he went to Temple and caught 49 passes for 882 yards and seven scores in his career.

While at Alfred State, Streater also was an All-American high jumper and still holds the school record in the event with a leap of 2.05 m.
