Reding and Williams Tally 20 Points Each in Medaille Loss

Josh Reding (Spencerport) and Tavion Williams (Bronx/FDA) tallied 20-points each in the Alfred State men's basketball 94-79 loss to the Medaille College Mavericks on Wednesday evening inside Orvis Gymnasium.

The Pioneers move to 8-15 overall and 4-11 in the AMCC while the Mavericks improve to 12-11 overall and 9-6 in the conference.

Alfred State shot 42.9% in field goals, 30.8% in three-pointers, 70.8% in free throws and picked up 34 rebounds.

Medaille recorded 61.3% in field goals, 20% in three-pointers, 53.6% in free throws and had 37 rebounds.

Reding added six rebounds and four assists while Williams chipped in seven rebounds and two assists.

Paris Jamison (Brooklyn/East Side Community) scored 17 points and Josh Romero (Bronx/Theodore Roosevelt) had seven assists and five steals.

The game was tied twice and the lead changed 12 times.

Alfred State went on a seven-point run within three minutes to lead 19-15 with 10:31 left in the first half, thanks to four Pioneer steals.

They went on an 11-point run four minutes later to take a 39-29 edge and took a 14-point advantage with 4:13 remaining.

Medaille was able to come within eight points of the lead and headed into halftime down 51-43.

The Mavericks out-scored Alfred State 51-28 in the second half to take the 15-point win.

The men head to Pitt.-Greensburg on Saturday, Feb. 19 for their last regular season game starting at 1 p.m.
