Schneider nets 19 vs. La Roche

Cody Schneider (Belmont, NY/Genesee Valley) scored 19 points to lead Alfred State at La Roche on Saturday afternoon. The Pioneers could not overcome a slow start in the 1st half and fell 86-68 to the Redhawks.

Fourteen turnovers slowed down Alfred State in the 1st half and allowed La Roche to build a 45-22 lead at the break. ASC turned things around in the 2nd half but never could get back in the game. The shot 46.7% from the field and turned the ball over five times while outscoring La Roche 46 to 35 in the final twenty minutes.

Schneider added six rebounds, five steals, and four assists to go along with his team best 19 points. Dylan Perry (Kingston, NY/Kingston) finished with 17 points and Paris Jamison (Brooklyn, NY/East Side) chipped in 14. ASC shot 44.2% (23 for 52) from the field, 35.3% from three (6 for 17), and 84.2% (16 for 19) from the foul line.

Devon Darrell had a big game for the Redhawks finishing with 30 points on 10 for 17 shooting. He also had six rebounds and five steals. La Roche finished with three players in double figures after shooting 43.8%  from the field, 37.1% from three, and 78.6 from the line.

Alfred State retuns home on Wednesday for a 7 p.m. AMCC contest vs. Pitt-Bradford.
