Crowley and Hoover Honored by the AMCC

Freshmen faceoff specialist Nathan Crowley (Irondequoit) has been named All-AMCC while head coach Jonathan Hoover has been named the conference Coach of the Year.

Crowley started in 15 games this year for the Pioneers. He won 198 of 342 faceoffs on the season (.579 winning percentage). He took all but 32 faceoffs on the season. He also led the team with 135 ground balls. He picked up at least 10 ground balls in six matches and had a season high 21 ground balls vs. Medaille College in the AMCC Showcase First Round.

Offensively, he scored seven goals and passed out two assists. He scored a season high three goals vs. Houghton and had a pair of goals vs. Medaille.

Hoover led the Pioneers to a 3-0 record in AMCC action during the regular season and the blue & gold split their two matches in the AMCC Showcase. Overall the Pioneers won seven games and were 4-1 vs. AMCC competition.

This is the second year that Hoover has been honored by the AMCC. Last year he was co-coach of the year with Rick Schunke (Hilbert).
