Johnson Scores Three vs. Farmingdale

Joe Johnson (Churchville Chili) recorded his second straight hat trick but the Alfred State lacrosse team couldn't get much going in a 22-3 loss at Farmingdale State (4-3).

The Rams scored the first four goals of the contest in the 10:02 of the contest before Johnson scored a pair of goals to cut the lead to 4-2 after the first 15 minutes. Johnson's first goal was assisted by AJ Soto (Churchville Chili).

Farmingdale scored the next 14 goals of the contest to take full control. Johnson scored his third goal of the year with 11:48 left in the game but the Pioneers couldn't find the back of the net again.

13 different Rams scored in the contest with Aj Sandorfi leading the way with seven points (1 goal and six assists. James Ragland and Jake Wandle racked up five points each (3 goals and 2 assists) and Dylan Fitzgerald found the back of the net four times.

Matt Cobb (Churchville) made 15 saves for Alfred State while a quartet of Rams goalies made five. Farmingdale outshot the 55-15 in the contest. 

Alfred State returns home on Wednesday for a 5 p.m. game vs. Medaille at Pioneer Stadium.
