Pioneers Blanked by Fisher

St. John Fisher scored three goals in just over an eight minute stretch in the 1st half as they defeated Alfred State 4-0 on Wednesday. The Cardinals are now 6-3-3 on the year.

Justin Ferron got SJFC on the board in 22:01 into the game when he headed in a free kick. Justin Polk scored in the 28th and 31st minute to make it 3-0 Fisher at the half.

Jake Gentile made it 4-0 with a goal in the 56th minute when he put a shot past the keeper after a corner kick.

The Cardinals held a 14 to 7 shot advantage in the contest. Szymon Labecki made three saves to record the shutout victory. Johnny Starzee (Babylon/West Babylon) made four saves for the Pioneers in 37:35 of action in the 2nd half.

The Pioneers head to SUNY ESF on Saturday for a 1 p.m. contest with the Mighty Oaks.
