Pioneers Fall in Home Finale

The Alfred State men's soccer team fell 4-0 to Houghton as they wrapped up the home portion of the season on Thursday evening. The Highlanders held a 17 to 3 shot advantage in the contest.

Daniel Bussey headed in the lone goal of the 1st half after a corner kick by Ben Lawrence in the 31st minute. 

The Highlanders added to the lead when Zach Shilvock scored after grabbing the ball after a cluster in front of the Pioneer net. Darcy Mitchell and Caleb Kaiss scored in the final five minutes to add insurance to the Houghton lead.

Caleb Loew made two saves in net to earn the victory for Houghton.

The Pioneers begin their season ending three-game roadtrip on Saturday when they travel to SUNY Canton for a 1 p.m. start vs. the Roos.
