Holley, Johnson,and Balys Named All-ACAA
Alfred State men's soccer players Brandon Holley (Livonia), Ryan Johnson (Sodus), and Chris Balys (Holley) have been selected to the All-ACAA 2nd team.
Holley, a senior midfielder, appeared in 15 of the team's 16 games. He led the team with eight points after netting three goals (tied for the team high) and passing out two assists. One of his goals was a game-winner.
Johnson, a sophomore midfielder, netted three goals on the season and passed out one assist.
Balys, a freshmen defender, was a steady influence on the back line for the Pioneers. He finished the year with a goal and an assist.
Jake Vattimo (Geneseo) and Kory Zimmer (Livonia) received votes and were named honorable mention.
Jose Corrales of Pine Manor has been named the Player of the Year, defenders Moises Membreno of Finlandia, Noah Nixon of Pine Manor and Joseph O'Halloran were tabbed as the Defensive Players of the Year while Connor Campbell of SUNY Canton picked up Goalkeeper of the Year honors and Nixon is the Freshman of the Year. John Shimer of Pine Manor was recognized by his peers as the Coach of the Year.
