Wildcats Rally to Win in Double OT

SUNY Poly scored three unanswered goals as they rallied to defeat Alfred State 3-2 on Wednesday afternoon. The Wildcats scored the game-winner with 2:28 left in the 2nd overtime.

The Pioneers got on the board quickly as Anthony Smith (Colden/Springville) scored after a free kick by David Benson (Clifton Park/Shenendowa). Benson's free kick found Austin Hubert (Hamburg) who was able to send it across to Smith. Early in the 28th minute the Pioneers were able to add to the lead when Zack Linderman (Olean) sent a corner kick to the far post and Chris Balys (Holley) got a slight piece of it with his head to put it in the net.

The Wildcats got on the board 2:01 into the second when Kason Sneyder scored after getting a pretty pass across the box from Richard Morris. The game remained 2-1 until there was 3:06 remaining when Morris headed in a long free kick from Andy Zhinin.

The game remained tied until the 108th minute when Morris scored his second of the game after getting a pass from Abdoulaye Toure.

The Wildcats (4-2) outshot the Pioneers 18-9 in the game.
