The Alfred State men's soccer team fell 3-1 on the road at Penn State Altoona on Saturday.

The Lions got on the board in the 4th minute on a goal by Cameron McCarthy. Grady Ballard netted his 9th goal of the season on a penalty kick 21:30 into the game and he assisted on a goal by Ciaran Corr in the 36th minute to give Penn State Altoona a 3-0 lead after the first half.

Alfred State broke the shutout for the Lions in the 89th minute when Farhan Abdi (Rochester/School of the Arts) tapped one in from 12 yards out after getting a pass from Anthony Smith (Colden/Springville Griffith).

Penn State Altoona held a 12 to 10 shot advantage in the contest.

The Pioneers head to SUNY Poly on Wednesday for a 6 p.m. contest with the Wildcats.
