Men's Soccer Ties at Thiel

The Pioneer Men's Soccer team travelled to Thiel and tied today 1-1, with both goals coming in the second half.

The Pioneers had another showing of steady offense, taking 15 shots, with seven on goal. Shot leaders include Riley Warren-Nichols (Fayetteville, N.Y. / Fayetteville-Manlius), Juan Ruiz (Port Chester, N.Y. / Port Chester), Will Bowen (Pittsford, N.Y. / Pittsford Sutherland) and Andres Mateos (Batavia, N.Y. / Batavia), all had two shots on the day.

Gavin Rice (Greece, NY/ Greece Athena) took two shots as well, both on goal. He knocked one in for a goal, nine seconds into the second half.  William Leahy (Pittsford, NY/ Pittsford Sutherland) assisted on the goal, his first assist of the season.

Giving up a goal in the 60-minute mark, the Pioneers then held strong to finish the game tied at one.

The Men's team plays at Nazareth on September 20, they look to have the steady play continue.
