Gold Edges Blue in Annual Preseason Meet

The Gold team edged the Blue team in the annual Alfred State swimming & diving Blue & Gold/Alumni Meet during Homecoming 2018 festivities. The Gold earned the 116-107 victory.

Key to the Gold victory was 15 points in the 1 meter diving competition. Austin Miller won the event with a 196.2 followed by teammate Sarah Stevens (178.10). Rebecca Stevens was 4th with 164.05.

Jessie Larue had a big night for the gold team as well as she broke the school NCAA record in the 50 free (25.99) and won the 100 backstroke in 1:05.07.

Joining the current team in the competition were nearly 20 alums. The alumni participated in events including the alumni team of Tyler LaFlamm, Kaileigh Lehman, Bryce Cutler, and Mason Sparks winning the 200 yard medley relay. 

The Pioneers open up the 2018-19 season on October 20th when they travel to Penn State Behrend for an early season AMCC showdown with the Lions.
