Dale and Miller Lead the Way in Season Opener

Ethan Dale (Lock Haven) and Austin Miller (Hornell) led the way as the Alfred State men's swimming and diving team opened up the 2018-19 season. Penn State Behrend took the meet 210-75.

Dale was 2nd in the 100 breast (1:06.40), 2nd in the 200 IM (2:11.60), and was 3rd in the 200 breast (2:27.69) to lead the swimming portion of meet.

Tim Olin (Perry) was 2nd in the 50 free (23.71) and 3rd in the 100 back (59.61) and 3rd in the 200 back (2:15.07). Ryan McDowell (Macedon/Gananda) was 3rd in the 100 fly (1:01.5).

The 200 medley relay team of Nolan Dale (Lock Haven), Ethan Dale, McDowell, and Olin finished 3rd in 1:49.47 while the 200 free relay team of Austin Eckrich (Rochester/Churchville Chili), Patrick McFadden (Midlakes), Aelex Gargano (Hilton), and Aaron Priel (Pioneer) was also 3rd in 1:43.28.

Miller won the 1 meter diving competition with a score of 218.80 while Jackson Teboe (Falconer) was 2nd with 211.0 points. Miller also won the 3m competition with 229.65 points while Teboe was 2nd with 2:07.15.

The Pioneers open up the home portion of their season on November 3rd when they host Buffalo State. Action is slated to begin at 1 p.m.
