Records Continue to Fall as Pioneers Wrap up Oberlin Invitational

The Alfred State men's swimming & diving team established four new records as they completed day three of the Oberlin Invitational. The Pioneers finished 7th in the team standings with 579 points. 

Westin Perry (Canisteo Greenwood) won his second event of the invitational to highlight the day. He won the 100 back in 52.82 to set a new top mark in the NCAA DIII era record book. He also set a new NCAA record in the 200 free in the prelims (1:47.15) and finished 6th in the final with a swim of 1:47.62.

Matt Walker (Kenmore West) was 7th in the 400 IM (4:19.78) while Ethan Dale (Lock Haven) was 10th in 4:26.24. Anthony Kahwaty (Jefferson Twp, NJ) was 8th in the 100 IM (1:05.81). He was also 10th in the 200 breast (2:21.64) while Stuart Yates (Naples) was 16th (2:28.99). Nate Miller (Gananda) was 12th in the 100 fly in 54.35 to set a new NCAA era record.

Miller, Perry, Walker, and Yates finished 5th in the 400 free relay. They broke the NCAA era school record by finishing in 3:18.21.

On the diving board, Austin Miller (Hornell) finished 4th with 328.95 points while Ryan Jobe (Gananda) was 6th with 249.40 points.

The Pioneers have a long break before returning to action on January 17th vs. Pitt Bradford.
