Pioneers Finished Tied for 4th at Brockport

The Alfred State men's indoor track & field team finished tied for 4th out of 11 teams at the Brockport Gold Eagle Multi & Invitational. The Pioneers scored 59 points in the event.

Jacob Drew (Corning Painted Post) and Jacob Wadsworth (Dansville) led the team. Drew won the 1,000 in 2:41.11 and was 7th in the 800 (2:02.49). Wadsworth was 2nd in the heptathlon with 4,005 points to claim a spot in the Alfred State career top ten in his first collegiate multi event.

Andrew Ruebenstahl (Washingtonville) was 4th (3,836) in the heptathlon and Tim Berry (Midlakes) was 5th (3,686). Paul Kemsley (Lancaster) was 4th in the weight throw (15.56 m), Collin Stauffer (LeRoy) was 5th in the triple jump (12.44 m) Michael Allender (Youngstown/Lew-Port) was 7th in the 60 m dash (7.29), and Ryan Lohr (West Seneca) was 7th in the 500 (1:17.05) while Devin Hall (Portville) was 8th (1:17.53).

In the 1,000, Matthew Connolly (Elmira Notre Dame) was 3rd in the while Joe Kretschmar (Phoenix, AZ) was 4th (3:14.01), and Conrad Kroll (Minisink Valley) was 5th (3:21.91).

Brockport won the men's team title with 172 points followed by RIT (141), Rochester (112), Alfred State and St. John Fisher (59), Brock (440, Fredonia (44), LeMoyne (23), Daemen (18), Alfred (15), and Houghton (11).

The Pioneers are back in action next Friday at RIT.
