Allender and Howard Qualify for ECAC's

Michael Allender (Youngstown/Lew-Port) and Cameron Howard (Brockport) both qualified for the ECAC Championships to highlight the Alfred State indoor track & field teams performance at Edinboro on Friday evening.

Allender was 9th overall with a time of 7.24 while Howard was 10th with a time of 7.25. Howard was also 8th in the 200 (23.52).

Paul Kemsley (Lancaster) was 2nd in the weight throw (16.37 m), Jacob Wadsworth (Dansville) was tied for 2nd in the high jump (1.80 m) and 6th in the 60 m hurdles (9.67), and Matthew Connolly (Elmira Notre Dame) was 4th in the 5000 (17:00.38).

Other top performances included:

  • Andrew Ruebenstahl (Washingtonville) was 7th in the high jump (1.75 m). He also tied with Tim Berry (Midlakes) for 7th in the pole vault (4.00 m).
  • Corey Seymour was 7th in the long jump (5.72 m)
  • Jacob Drew (Corning Painted Post) was 8th in the 800 (2:06.51)

The indoor postseason starts with a group of athletes heading to the ECAC Championships in New York City on March 1-2
