Pioneers Collect 10 Top Eight Finishes at RIT

The Alfred State track & field team recorded 10 top eight finishes at the RIT Midseason Meet. The Pioneers entered the meet ranked #6 in the latest USTFCCCA MidEast poll.

Cameron Chambers (East Rochester) led the way by winning the 800 in 2:00.47. Chambers was also part of the 2nd place 4x400 relay team. He combined with Ryan Buechel, Cameron Howard (Brockport), and Jacob Drew (Corning Painted Post) crossed the finish line in 3:36.20.

Beuchel finished 3rd in the 400 (52.37), Gavin Bathgate (East Rochester) was 3rd in the 3000 (9:27.89), and Jesse Johnson (Horseheads) was 4th in the high jump (1.75 m). Zack Rudewicz-Nepokroeff (Williamsville East) was 4th in the 200 (23.66) and 5th in the long jump (6.65 m).

Other top performers included:

• Zion Ponder (Rochester/School of the Arts) was 6th in the long jump (6.43 m)
• Drew was 6th in the 800 (2:04.27)
• Corey Seymour (Dryden) was 8th in the 200 (24.38).

Some members of the team will head to Nazareth next weekend.
