Pioneers Race to 13th Place at Roberts

The Alfred State men's cross country team had a solid showing at the Roberts Wesleyan Harry Anderson Invitational. The Pioneers finished 13th as a team out 21 complete teams in a 8k race that featured 233 finishers.

Shawn Rutledge (Watkins Glen) led the blue & gold with a 35th place finish. He crossed the finish line in 27:33.6. Ryan Lohr (West Seneca West) was 82nd (28:28.3), Matthew Connolly (Elmira Notre Dame) was 92nd (28:47.6), Joe Kretschmar (Phoenix, AZ/Desert Vista) was 110th (29:29.5), and Jacob Drew (Corning Painted Post) was 115th (29:45.5).

Roberts Wesleyan won the men's race with a score of 40 followed by Geneseo and Cortland. The blue & gold had a score of 343 and finished ahead of Hobart, D'Youville, Onondaga CC, Morrisville, Hilbert, Medaille, Villa Maria, and Davis College.

The team travels to Letchworth State Park next weekend to compete in the Geneseo Invitational.
