Kruger and Jackson Honored by USCAA

Sophomore shortstop Stormi Kruger (Medina) and junior outfielder Katie Jackson (Troy, PA) were both recently honored the USCAA. Kruger was named an honorable mention All-American and Jackson earned National All-Academic honors.

The Alfred State softball team split a pair with RIT as they wrapped up the 2015 season. The Lady Pioneers took the opener 3-1 and the Lady Tigers won the nightcap 8-5.

The Alfred State softball swept SUNY Canton for the second straight day defeating the Kangaroos 11-7 and 10-3. The Lady Pioneers are now 11-21 overall and 10-10 since returning from their southern trip.

Alfred State and Nazareth battled in a pair of one-run contests on Thursday afternoon. The Flyers won a wild 11-10 affair in the opener and then completed the sweep with a walk-off 2-1 victory.

The Alfred State softball team split their fourth straight doubleheader on a chilly Tuesday afternoon vs. Houghton. The Pioneers took the opener 5-4 in eight innings while the Highlanders took game two 8-4.

The scheduled softball doubleheader between Alfred State and Penn College has been postponed due to inclement weather. The two teams will try to find a make-up date later in the season.

For the second straight afternoon, Alfred State and SUNY Canton split a doubleheader at Pioneer Park. The Pioneers won the opener 12-4 while the Kangaroos won the nightcap 7-6 in eight innings.

Alfred State has announced a change to the softball schedule. The Lady Pioneers were originally slated to host Pitt-Bradford but will now travel to Elmira for a 3 p.m. doubleheader.
