Beach Wins 3m Diving to Highlight Day One at Fredonia

Nick Beach (Canandaigua) won the 3m diving competition to highlight the Alfred State performance on day one of the Fredonia Invitational. Both the Pioneer men and women are currently in 8th place.
 
Beach scored 332.30 points to win the competition on the 3m board. Jackson Teboe (Falconer) finished 3rd with 318.15 points and Austin Miller was 4th with 307.75 points.
 
Ethan Dale (Lock Haven, PA) was 14th in the 200 IM (2:03.78) while Ethan Tatro (Lockport) was 15th in the 50 free (23.08). Dale was also part of the 800 free relay team set a new school record and finished 12th. Nathan Miller (Gananda), Tyler La Flamm (Mexico), and Bryce Cutler (Newton, NJ) combined with Dale to swim a 7:42.10.
 
Kathryn Lewis (Sanborn/Niagara Wheatfield) finished 12th in the 500 free (5:35.74) to pace the women's team. She was also part of the 800 free relay team that finished 9th (8:40.75) and the 400 medley relay team that finished 11th (4:25.75). She teamed with Sarah Stevens (Wellsville), Elizabeth Drake (Lansing), and Lauren Earley (Waterford/Shenendehowa) in the 800 free and teamed with Earley, Kaileigh Lehman (Lowville/Beaver River), and Payton Armstrong (Highland Mills/Monroe Woodbury) in the 400 medley.
 
The Pioneer men scored 102 points on day one while the women scored 75.
 
The Pioneers dive right back into the pool at 11 a.m. for day two action on Fredonia. The finals will be competed at 6 p.m.
