Women Down Bradford, Dale Wins 100 Breast

The Alfred State women's swimming team earned a 105-60 victory over Pitt Bradford as they improved to 4-1 overall and 4-0 in AMCC duals. The men's team lost a tight 109-84 battle with the Panthers.

Kathryn Lewis (Niagara Wheatfield), Lauren Earley (Shenendehowa), and Kaileigh Lehman (Lowville/Beaver River) were multiple event winners for the women. Lewis won the 1,000 free in 12:05.39 and the 500 free in 5:48.37, Earley won the 200 IM in 2:27.64 and the 100 back in 1:09.75, and Lehman won the 100 free (1:01.64) and the 100 breast (1:17.43)

Payton Armstrong (Highland Mills/Monroe-Woodbury) won the 50 free (28.66), the 200 medley relay team won in 2:03.98, and the 200 free relay team won in 1:51.53. Earley, Lehman, Sarah Stevens (Wellsville), and Elizabeth Drake (Lansing) combined in the medley relay while Elizabeth Furmanski (Albion), Armstrong, Drake, and Lewis swam the free relay.

Ethan Dale (Lock Haven, PA) led the men's team by winning the 100 breast in 1:03.23. Dale was also 2nd in the 200 free (1:54.80) and the 200 IM (2:09.84).

Bryce Cutler (Newton, NJ) was 2nd in the 1,000 free (11:25.07) and 2nd in the 100 fly (57.45), Ethan Tatro (Lockport) was 2nd in the 50 free (23.40), and Tyler La Flamm (Mexico) was 2nd in the 100 back (1:00.76).

The Pioneers are right back in the pool tomorrow when they host the Pioneer Invitational at 11 a.m.. Alfred State will welcome Roberts Wesleyan, SUNY Delhi, Genesee CC, and Herkimer CCC. Diving will also start at 11 a.m. but will be held at Alfred University.
