Lehman Wins Twice, Lewis Sets New Record

The Alfred State swimming team lost a tight AMCC meet at Cabrini on Saturday afternoon. The Pioneer women fell 137-125 while the men were downed 145-103.

The Pioneer women won three individual events and both relays on the day. Kaileigh Lehman (Lowville/Beaver River) led the way with a pair of victories. She won the 100 breast in 1:15.24 and the 200 breast in 2:47.92. Kathryn Lewis (Sanborn/Niagara Wheatfield) won the 1650 free and re-set her own school record with a time of 19:58.75. Lewis was also 2nd in the 100 free (58.32) and 2nd in the 500 free (5:41.79).

In the 200 medley relay, Lauren Earley (Waterford/Shendehowa), Lehman, Sarah Stevens (Wellsville), and Elizabeth Drake (Lansing) won in 2:02.35 while Elizabeth Furmanski (Albion), Hannah Snayczuk (Machias/Pioneer), Payton Armstrong (Highland Mills/Monroe Woodbury) and Lewis combined to win the 200 free relay in 1:50.14.

Stevens was also 2nd in the 200 free (2:07.87) and the 400 IM (5:23.62) while Earley was 2nd in the 100 back (1:09.60) and 2nd in the 200 back (2:29.82). Armstrong also earned 2nd in the 100 fly (1:12.29).

On the men's side, Ethan Dale (Lock Haven, PA) won the 400 IM in 4:34.62 and was 2nd in the 100 breast (1:03.78) and in the 200 breast (2:21.03). Nathan Miller (Ganada) also won an individual event by winning the 100 fly in 58.45 

Bryce Cutler (Newton, NJ) was 2nd in the 1,000 free (11:13.41) and 2nd in the 200 fly (2:12.11), Tyler La Flamm (Mexico) was 2nd in the 100 back (59.41), Ethan Tatro (Lockport) was 2nd in the 50 free (23.69), and Anthony Kahwaty (Jefferson Township, NJ) was 2nd in the 400 IM (4:57.03).

The men's 200 free relay team of Nate Ciciera (Derby/Lake Shore), Mason Sparks (Lockport/Royalton-Hartland), Cutler, and Kahwaty won in 1:38.00 while the men's 200 medley relay team (1:44.94) finished 2nd.

Pioneer divers will head to the Ithaca Invitational tomorrow while the women's team is back in action next Saturday when they host an AMCC meet vs. Franciscan at 1 p.m.

The men are next in action at the AMCC Championships at Penn State Behrend on February 14th.
